Jackson Trail Fire Department in Jefferson, Georgia is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Fire Chief.
Jefferson, GA is in northeast Georgia, approximately 56 miles from downtown Atlanta, GA - population estimated at 90,000. The county is 340 square miles and is one of the fastest growing counties in the state. Jackson Trail Fire Department is in the western part of Jackson County and covers a response area of 25 square miles, responding out of 2 stations, with the 3rd station to be built in the near future.
The department has an ISO rating of 3/6; and operates with a roster of 39 firefighters. We staff 24 hours/day, 365 days/year.
This is a full time, managerial position that requires a variety of knowledge, skills, education, and abilities necessary to lead a department that currently utilizes part-time firefighters, paid on-call firefighters of varying certifications, as well as volunteer firefighters, to meet the needs of the community that it serves.
